Jason Reitman once told me that in order to make it big, you must learn to identify the truth.. or be the son of a famous director, it opens SO many doors (true story, the man did reply to my two tweets but I’ll tell you about that another day). I still have yet to figure out what he means but I know I’m on the path to success.
My life is a mess, I’ll allow you that much. It’s a crazy, beautiful disaster. A ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Sometimes I pretend I’m living in a novel where someone is going to ride into my world, sweep me off my feet and end all the problems there. Let’s be honest that’s just for the story books. The only person who’s every going to save you is yourself, remember that. Over the sixteen years of my life I’ve learned to cherish the little things; good books, cliche movies, maybe even the sunrise or the smell of coffee brewing in the morning. If we can’t notice the little things, how are we suppose to create the big things?
I’m Jamie by the way, Jamie Angal Hawkins. Or just Jamie. I really can’t stand small talk, and if I had the choice, I would honestly rather talk about fears, aliens, animals and crappy movies. Then again, small talk sounds easier, and less creepy. Before I go on and on about mindful things, let me tell you the basics. I’m 16 years old, I’m a taurus, I obsess way to much over my dog, the sims, and of course the Kardashians and Pretty Little Liars. I’m your average white girl but I only enjoy one drink from Starbucks and I don’t really like cats. I have some of the greatest best friends in the world and without them, I have no idea where I’d be. I aspire to be a famous director and direct some wicked movies, but before all that I want to move to Los Angeles and get my Bachelors of Arts degree at New York Film Academy.I dream to change people’s lives through the art of film. Did I mention I can easily seduce people with my awkwardness and can quote every word from The Fault In Our Stars? I’d make a good friend. If you’ve read this much, thank you for stopping by and I hope you continue to follow my journey through this semester of, School of Global Media Studies.
